Lost in thought is where you can find her.
People often tell her she thinks too much, brooding over matters that only bring worry and indigestion.
Late at night, wilted and weary from the quiet, inner reeling, she sits cross-legged with the incandescent glow behind her.
Holding her face in her hands, she can feel the pulse of her temples through her finger tips, “thump…thump…thump….”
A soft sigh escapes her, but not much else.
The nomadic dreams she awoke from are now drifting back to mind.
She slowly rubs her face and then holds her chin as the hum from the refrigerator drones on.
She looks forward to sleep, allowing the night to speak and disclose more inner view.
By dreams, she hopes of finding peace in facing what could be seen as darkness.
“What will it be tonight?”
The looming obscurity awaits its acknowledgement.
She wonders if what she has missed today might be discovered behind closed lids and perhaps a limp arm draped over her forehead.
If nothing else can unveil her, perhaps she can unearth herself whilst sleeping.
